SPANISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM

Since 2001, El Aventurero has been offering a Spanish language program to that unique brand of adventurer who finds himself

or herself wanting to linger longer, to explore more deeply and to venture more broadly into the regions in and around Creel; and to do so with a more polished understanding of the Spanish language in which to communicate.

THE PROGRAM offers the opportunity to LEARN SPANISH while also becoming more adept at HORSEMANSHIP. This program operates four-week, six-week and eight-week courses of instruction in the Spanish language and horsemanship, with one-on-one lessons in both arenas of knowledge.

Provided to the student are LODGING in Hostel El Aventurero; MEALS (breakfast and dinner) with the family; morning instructions in Spanish with a textbook and materials; and afternoon sessions of practice in both Spanish and horsemanship.

The program includes short horseback rides as well as pack trips when appropriate; topographical instruction to familiarize the student with the canyons of the Sierra Tarahumara and the Copper Canyons; and an in-depth history of the area.

Students will learn and practice the duties of horse care, including cleaning of corrals and stalls, feeding and grooming of horses, cleaning and repairing of tack, and other chores related to equine management, including equine health and hoof care.
